#19 Go Fishing

This past weekend we took the boys fishing. It was Sam's first time and he was so excited... until he caught his first fish. Then he was terrified. He thought for sure the fishy was going to bite his toes. So Josh and Joey fished awhile longer while Sam and I took a walk and ate some lunch... a safe distance from the fish. Joey ended up catching 6 fish that day! 

2012 Summer Bucket List

I saw the idea to create a "Summer Bucket List" on a few other blogs and decided we'd give it a try this year. The summer days always go by so fast so I thought this would be a fun way to document some of the highlights. I plan to update the blog as we check things off our list. Here's to a fun-filled summer!

Joey's 2012 Preschool Graduation

Joey's preschool graduation was this past week. The celebration was similar to last year (picnic and program at the park) but this year was different. He is now officially done with preschool and will be moving on to a new adventure -- kindergarten -- next fall. To say he's excited would be an understatement. We attended a program called Gearing Up for Kindergarten and I think it was beneficial for both of us. We were able to get a little preview of what kindergarten will be like, get a tour of the school, do a lot of fun learning activities together and meet some of the teachers, the librarian and even the principal. It was a great program that helped prepare us all for what's coming in a few months.

Joey and Ella have been attending daycare/preschool together since they were  just a year old. In case you are wondering, Joey says she is NOT his girlfriend, they are "just friends".

Sam was so proud of his big brother. He sat in the front row during the program and cheered louder than anyone. 

Joey and Ms. Mandy. She took over for Ms. Sabrina when she had her baby in April. 

It was so nice of Ms. Sabrina to come to graduation. ALL of the kids were so happy to see her.

Besides having to deal with the wind, we had a great night and I am so proud of Joey's accomplishments this year. Have I mentioned how much I love these two little guys of mine?!?

2012 Fargo Marathon

It's that time of year again...

On Thursday, Joey participated in his 2nd annual 1/2 mile youth run. He seemed to have a few butterflies before the race started but as soon as we started running, he was all smiles. He was high-fiving fans along the route and afterwards said "Mom, I can't believe all of those people were cheering for ME!" He started to get tired as we were nearing the finish line but then saw his "girlfriend" and all of a sudden got a boost of energy and took off ahead of me. He did a great job and we both had a lot of fun. After the race, we went to Cherry Berry for some well deserved frozen yogurt. 

Fargo Marathon Youth Run 2012

This morning, Josh ran the 1/2 Marathon and did awesome! His goal was to complete it in under 2 hours and he did it in 1 hour, 59 minutes. 

Way to go Josh & Joey!! 

Mother's Day Masterpieces

When I picked the boys up on Friday, they were both SO excited to show me what they made for Mother's Day.

Joey made this and surprised me with his favorite flower, a "snapdragon"...

Joey really wanted to make me a "special" picture on Mother's Day. He put a lot of thought into this picture. I am pink (because it's my favorite color). I am taking Bruizer on a walk (because I like to take him for a walk). Dad, Sam and Joey are picking flowers for me (pink ones, of course). He's becoming quite the little artist. I especially love his signature... Joey {heart} Mom.
