Memorial Day Weekend

We went back to Minot on Memorial Day weekend to visit family and celebrate 2 very special occasions... Adrianna's 2nd birthday and my dad's 60th. Yes, I said 60... can you believe it! Dad, you don't look a day over 40! : )

On Saturday, we headed to the lake to see the Belzer clan. The weather was beautiful and we all had a really good time. As always, Denese fed us very well and Joey had a lot of fun seeing grammy and papa and playing with Tori.

The rest of the weekend we hung out at my parent's house. We celebrated Adrianna's birthday on Saturday night and my dad's on Sunday. The kids did a lot of playing and the adults did a lot of eating. We had the BEST desserts... in fact, Josh and I are still talking about the awesome cake my mom made on Sunday.

He liked the big boulders at the camp site and had fun searching for snakes... good thing he didn't find one!

Tori was so good with Joey and he had a lot of fun playing with her at the park.

Spring is here...

Where does the time go? The last month has been busy, busy, busy. During the flood, we moved everything from our basement up to our main level. Since I am a bit of a neat freak, the clutter was driving me crazy! So the past month we've been busy moving stuff back downstairs and trying to get everything organized. Joey has been a great help through it all... I put stuff in boxes, he takes it out.

Here are some pictures from Easter. The weather was beautiful so we were able to take Joey to the Children's Museum for their annual Easter egg hunt. He quickly filled his basket with eggs and was happy to trade them in for a goody bag at the end. After that, we went inside where they were making hats, painting faces and coloring easter eggs. We all had a lot of fun...

March Madness

Life is finally starting to get back to normal this week. Josh and I returned to work and Joey was happy to see his friends at daycare. Mother Nature seems to enjoy throwing us one curveball after another... only in ND are you forced to fight a flood in a blizzard! I've never seen anything like this before. We are so thankful that the river is finally receding and the snow is slowly melting.

Here are a couple of pictures from when my parents came to visit a couple of weeks ago. It was my mom's birthday so us girls had a full day of shopping while the boys hung out. Joey bumped his head on the end table and insisted on wearing a band-aid on his forehead for close to a week. See what happens when you leave the men in charge of a 2 year old... I'M ONLY KIDDING!!

Snow Day!!

Just when we think Spring is just around the corner...

Blizzard conditions have brought the Fargo-Moorhead area to a standstill, closing businesses, schools and government offices and forcing the city of Fargo to close one of its main east-west thoroughfares.

Josh, Joey and I, along with the rest of the FM area, were stranded at home today. While Josh worked from his laptop, Joey and I had a fun filled day of coloring, playing cars, pretending to be dinosaurs and watching cartoons (Wonder Pets is a new favorite in our house). Joey is becoming quite the talker lately. He's getting a lot easier to understand and even talks in short sentences. It feels like it all happened overnight. He also has a weird new laugh... we're not sure where it came from but it's like he makes his voice really low and then lets out a big belly laugh. He's quite the character. I assure you, the days are never dull around the Belzer home!

Isn't this the cutest picture? Joey's always been pretty attached to his monkey but lately he has to have it with him at all times and treats it like a baby. The other night he was sitting in his bed, reading his monkey a story and then he tucked him in under his covers and told me his monkey went "night-night." He is such a sweet little boy... when he wants to be. : )
